Barbara Mann holds a BS in Biology (with a concentration in Botany) and an MBA, both from Virginia Commonwealth University, and a Certificate in Non-profit Management from Tidewater Community College. In addition to her current work as a Grant Development Specialist in the Office of Research at Old Dominion University (ODU), she continues to be involved in the arts. She was a Lab Manager at Virginia Commonwealth University in the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology working on projects to map neural pathways which innervate the oculomotor and vestibular systems. As a producing studio artist, her first funded grants were from the Virginia Commission for the Arts Artist-in-Residence programs for schools in Richmond, VA.
