About Barbara McDonald

I became an artist at age 5, when I won a coloring contest for a giant stuffed bunny. It was significantly bigger than I was, and when I came to collect my prize, the woman asked "are you SURE you colored this yourself?" I was offended at the question and offered to color another on the spot. During the covid lockdown, I took the via character strengths test. Turns out, it explained a lot about me. My top strength is beauty and excellence. I call it the Martha Stewart gene. How you do one thing is how you do everything and that is true with the work that emerges from my studio. I love working with locally owned businesses so they communicate beautifully with their customers or potential clients. There is hardly anything I haven't designed in the nearly 30 years I have been in business for myself. I stand at the intersection where old school design sense meets modern day technology. Some of my clients have been with me since the beginning and we have grown together over decades. My most notable clients are restaurants that Bay Area residents know and love. But really any small business that wants to look professional and established, attract their target market, and tell their story beautifully is my ideal client. I am always delighted to meet new people and have exploratory conversations to see if I am the right person to solve their marketing challenges with graphic design + professional signage. I am the current president of the Business Growth Network chapter of BNI, so if you'd like to attend one of our meetings, hit me up. In my free time, I love to snorkel, bike, play guitar and piano, throw a monthly dinner party, and make my home beautiful.
