About Barbara Muze

Barbara Muze is the Executive Director of the Chopin Foundation, where she has worked since 2013. She is a seasoned arts administrator with over 20 years of experience supporting various non-profit organizations. Her earlier career in banking and finance underscores her strength in financial management. With extensive experience in event production, Muze has directed the operations of large concerts and festivals and smaller elegant events. Muze has a proven track record in grant writing and marketing and has used these skills in key management positions for the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, the Miami International Piano Festival, and the ArtsNaples/Stay in May Festival. Barbara is also an accomplished musician and has performed professionally with various musical ensembles and as a soloist. She currently serves as Treasurer on the Board of the Broward County Music Teachers Association and was the organization’s President from 2015-17. She also serves on the Board of the International Federation of Chopin Societies, a UNESCO International Music Council member. Barbara Muze strongly believes that arts education is an imperative pillar of a well-rounded school curriculum and should be made accessible to all school children. She has advocated for arts learning in each of her professional roles. She holds a BA in Art History from the University of Massachusetts and a MS in Management with a specialization in Arts Administration from Lesley University.
