About Barbara Piper

After realizing my passion for assisting in the recovery of the disabled I pursued a degree in Physical Therapy and in 1998, graduated from The University of Findlay with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy and a certificate in Gerontology. I attended The University of Cincinnati while working on her prerequisites for admission to The University of Findlay. While at The University of Cincinnati, I was named Physic's Student of the Year and became a member of the Psi Beta Honor Society. In 2008, desired to extend my education and earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from Boston University. I have co-authored two books "The Visiting Nurse Association of American Policy and Procedure Manual" and "The American Physical Therapy Association Home Health Physical Therapy Guidelines". I am a member of the American Physical Therapy Association with related memberships in the Ohio Chapter, Geriatric section and Home Care Section. I am also a clinical instructor and a mentor for the American Physical Therapy Association. My interest in geriatrics lead to being nationally recognized by the Geriatric Section of the American Physical Therapy Association in 1993. While employed at TriHealth I have been awarded two system wide recognitions and two hospital wide recognitions. The system wide recognitions were for establishing the Doctor of PT Peer to Peer program and for catching a fault in a manufactures equipment resulting in the manufacture correcting the issue and falls being prevented. I am currently active on many committees including: Care Coordination, Fall prevention, Stroke committee, Ortho Committee, Epic EMR reliability Committee, Mentor for Miami University Pre PT students. I manage the weekend scheduling for all therapy staff, quarterly care path data, and assist in discharge planning for all patients.
