About Barbara Voets

Born and raised in an environment steeped in music and art, my passion for opera has always played a central role, even while studying Visual Arts at Sint Lucas Antwerpen. My professional journey began at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp, a time when the field of communication was to be explored and I took the challenge to do so. From developing various publications to pioneering virtual tours (during covid, obviously), I went through every step of the process and am grateful to have been able to share these experiences with a growing and dedicated team. During my time at AP University of Applied Sciences, I honed my skills in marketing and focused on cultivating long-term relationships with young audiences. Here, I had the opportunity to transform complex administrative procedures into engaging and narrative online experiences, while also developing new marketing campaigns and organising unique artistic events that managed to inspire and engage people. These diverse experiences eventually led me to my current role at Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, a challenging and intriguing path that I walk with immense passion. My mission is clear: to guide all people into the wonderful world of opera and ballet, where they can be enchanted by the depth, beauty and power of these timeless art forms.
