About Barbara Wang

Professor Barbara Wang is specialised in cross-cultural leadership, and she is the Associate Dean for China Initiatives at Hult Ashridge Executive Education. Her research interests are Chinese Leadership and management. She has extensive experience in leadership development and consulting and has developed customised programs for companies in the energy, IT, financial/banking, government sectors. She teaches bilingually in English and Mandarin for multinational companies and universities. Before her current roles, Barbara was a Vice President for the Western Management Institute of Beijing. Her commercial experience extends to working for multinational companies in China, where she was the Retail Operations Director for CELINE of the Louis Vuitton group; and the Global Accounts Director for DHL. Barbara holds a BA, an MBA, a PhD. She has qualified in many leadership psychometric tools. Barbara’s main publication includes the book Guanxi in the Western Context: Intra-Firm Group Dynamics and Expatriate Adjustment (Palgrave Macmillan, 2019) and Chinese Leadership (Palgrave Macmillan, 2011).
