About Barishka Sam

I started my career as a Junior Food Technologist at Cape Herb and Spice (Spice Plant). Within 1 year I was permanently employed as the Food Technologist where I was able to demonstrate my passion for Food Safety and Quality. I excelled in the role so much so that I quickly rose up the ranks to being promoted as the QA Team Supervisor overseeing a team of 16 QC’s and Cleaners which later grew to a team of 24. I very quickly had to learn the ropes to become a supervisor the team could respect and rely on. As someone who is able to work in a high-pressure environment, I was able to juggle this while also taking full responsibility as the HACCP Team leader, Hygiene officer, Internal & GMP auditor, production support as well as the up keep of the food safety systems (BRCGS, IFS, IBL). In 2020 I was awarded with the Libstar: Star of recognition award as I have a reputation for always going the extra mile to achieve results of an excellent standard. I joined NSP Unsgaard (Subsidiary of the Lion Match Company) specialising in Personal Care and Lifestyle brands. Here I will further expand my knowledge in the Quality realm. My vision is to further broaden my knowledge of various manufacturing processes and certifications (ISO 9001). My goal is to work for a multinational retailer or FMCG company based in Cape Town that is renowned for their ability to provide products of an unachievable quality standard, where I can use the knowledge that I have gained in the manufacturing realm.
