About Barney Andersen

I am currently a Senior Operations Manager with Cadillac Fairview overseeing building operations at the Pacific Centre and the HSBC Building in downtown Vancouver, Canada. In this role, I provide responsive leadership and foster teamwork to deliver major capital projects on time and within budget. I take pride in being an adept and approachable manager, and throughout my career I have built a strong reputation for weaving people skills with the successful execution of major projects across diverse countries and cultures. Previously, I worked as Head of Integrated Facility Management (IFM) for international real estate firm, Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) in Jakarta, Indonesia where I held overall responsibility for the delivery and growth of our Integrated Facility Management solution. The capacity to adapt quickly to complex work environments was of critical importance here, and I excelled under pressure to drive successful results while maintaining close personal relations. Before Indonesia, I was a Senior IFM Account Manager with Singapore JLL. I oversaw the operations and expenditures of multiple high-profile accounts, and liaised with major corporate clients in the global banking and finance sector. Additionally, I was responsible for proposing innovative solutions for upgrading clients' work environments to maximize energy savings, cost-effectiveness and office efficiency. Ensuring that JLL Facility Management teams delivered superior services that met and exceeded client expectations, was of paramount importance. Prior to Singapore, my role was Senior Facility Manager for Procter and Gamble (P&G) in Kobe, Japan. Here, I acquired diverse global experience with project management, change management and transaction management over the course of 4.5 years. I collaborated with P&G clientele while leading facility management teams across Japan, South Korea, Philippines and Australia. Notably, I oversaw the disbursement of millions of dollars to upgrade building infrastructure and renovate office space. Reflecting the success of our efforts, my team and I were the honoured recipients of P&G Japan’s Best Supplier award in 2011 and again in 2013. My early career began at Colliers International in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, managing the real estate assets of high-profile domestic and international businesses. The culmination of my 3.5 years of work here, was overseeing the start-up office and retail space for Kuhmo Asiana International, HCMC.
