About Barrett Gilmer

Barrett Gilmer is a Managing Director at MidOcean Partners and Co-Head of Business Services. MidOcean Partners is a New York-based alternative asset manager that specializes in middle market private equity and alternative credit investments. Since its inception in 2003, MidOcean Private Equity has managed approximately $5 billion of committed capital and has targeted investments in high-quality middle market companies in the business services and consumer sectors. MidOcean Credit Partners was launched in 2009 and currently manages over $8 billion across a series of alternative credit strategies. Since joining MidOcean in 2004, Mr. Gilmer has been involved in the execution of MidOcean’s investments in OneLink Communications (sold to Liberty Global for $585 million), Thompson Publishing Group (sold to Avista for $200 million), Penton (sold to Informa plc for $1.6 billion), Insight Communications (sold to Time Warner Cable for $3 billion), Olympus Media (merged with Fairway Media), Fairway Media (sold to Adams Outdoor / GTCR for $575 million), JF Petroleum Group, Questex, Zonda and Music Reports. Mr. Gilmer has closed more than 50 add-on acquisitions into these platforms.
