About Barrie Vincent

I am a Chartered Building Surveyor being a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, having qualified in the Building Surveyors Division. I was elected a Professional Associate of the Institution in 1973 and a Fellow in May 1979. I am a Chartered Building Engineer being a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers. I was elected a Member Building Surveyor in 1973 and a Fellow in July 1979. I am a Member of the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors. I entered the profession in 1967 and have been a full time partner in private practice firms of Chartered Building Surveyors since 1974. I have 51 years experience as a Building Surveyor, 45 years experience since qualification. I was a member of the R.I.C.S. Central London Branch Building Surveyors Divisional Committee from 1975 to 1980 and Secretary of that Committee from 1978 to 1980. I served on the Wessex Branch R.I.C.S. Building Surveyors Committee from 1987 to 1991. I served on the C.A.B.E. Wessex Branch Committee from 1980 to 1998, being appointed Branch Chairman from 1986 to 1988. I was an Assessor appointed by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors for the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) in the Building Surveyors Division (1996 -2016) I served on the R.I.C.S. President’s Panel of Construction Arbitrators from 1988 to 1995 and received appointments for construction dispute references from the R.I.C.S. Arbitration Service. I served on the R.I.C.S. Professional Conduct Disciplinary and Appeals Panel.(2004-2012) I am admitted to the UK. Register of Expert Witnesses and also ‘Checked’ and listed in the Law Society (Thompson Sweet & Maxwell’s) Directory of Expert Witnesses. I receive and accept numerous appointments to act as a Party appointed Expert or Single Joint Expert in civil litigation matters. Specialties: Expert Witness and Party Wall Matters
