About Barry Groom

Obtaining the right balance between business and technical skills has been essential for the last 10 years when working closely with customers in various markets. This has made me tremendously motivated in developing a multi-disciplinary skillset to help work with customers and peers. Since starting out as an engineer I have had the privilege of working with many highly skilled peers being exposed to large business/IT projects from Microsoft Office 365 and Azure, Firewall and Switch infrastructure deployments, entire Office deployments for international clients, Public and Private Clouds solutions including for fully managed services to customer co-location datacentres. Engaging with customers for business problems has enabled me to develop soft skills in communicating with customers and peers, being able to engage as part of a wider team of skilled people, translating business requirements into IT solutions and services. Most recent experience has been management of an MSP team for a large international client base operating out of co-location datacentres combining this with on premise services. During this time I have enjoyed working encouraging the team to advanced their own skills whilst extending my own in new areas like Pre-Sales, Product and Service development, Business Process creation and skills in management.
