About Barry Heaybourne

My engineering management skills have been put to the test in both the Defence and Health sectors. In both, my interpersonal skills have shone through when dealing with clients and suppliers. My leadership and management acumen gained over 20+ years in the Royal Navy along with my drive, focus and attention to detail have recently aided in successfully delivering the requirements of very demanding PFI contract, consistent with service level agreements and quality plans. I have worked alongside the principle contractor providing waterfront support of Royal Navy warships, meeting the requirements of the duty holders to maintain safe platforms and system/platform availability. I have experience of project delivery and always remain on budget and on schedule, mostly due to good planning but occasionally through persuasion and applying pressure on suppliers! I have experience in the following areas: • Marine engineering systems (including weapons) maintenance and support - planning and delivery. • Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (UMMS & Concept) • Lifecycle planning and project delivery • Building services and especially healthcare premises (HTM’s) • IT skills (MS Office) I am an Incorporated Engineer and member of the Institute of Marine Engineering Science and Technology (IMarEST).
