About Barry L Smith

My mission is to improve the world of work, one self-managing team at a time. I help teams to learn Lean & Agile principles and apply them successfully in frameworks like Scrum & Kanban. I'm convinced that empowered, self-organizing teams are fundamental to building successful modern organizations. In my 30+ years of working in technology I've seen that innovation can be fostered anywhere, from startups to Fortune 500 firms. My experience in product management and agile delivery has covered all stages of the product lifecycle - from new-category creation to portfolio management. In working with product delivery groups I focus on building a foundational understanding of flow and value, while establishing safe grounds for collaboration. I believe the oft-cited gains from Agile - higher productivity, rapid innovation, increased market responsiveness - are only achieved if we concentrate on building healthy teams.
