About Barry May

Barry May is a workforce development professional with expertise in startups and expansions, innovative recruitment strategies, customized employee selection, and training and development. Barry worked for the number one workforce development program in the nation, LED FastStart, for 5 years before starting with the Alabama Community College Systems Workforce Development. For the last 3 years, Barry has had oversite of the Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Technology Training Center located on Bossier Parish Community College’s campus. This training center has been invaluable in providing the necessary resources to support startup and expanding companies such as BENTELER Steel/Tube, Ternium, Inc, and many other regional companies with their recruitment, selection, and customized training solutions. Barry holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from Louisiana Tech University and a Masters in Industrial Management from Northeastern State University. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from 15 years working in Manufacturing in the areas of engineering and operations management. In 2010, Barry was selected by Training Magazine as one of 2010’s 40 top young trainers in the U.S. and is a graduate of Louisiana’s Certified Workforce Developer (CWD) program. Barry serves on Louisiana Tech University’s Industrial Engineering Advisory Council.
