About Barry Osmun

2025 marks my 40th year in architectural design sales and marketing. Throughout my career I have been very fortunate to have worked for some great companies such as Shaw Brick and Pella Windows which helped lay the foundation for where I am today. I formed AzSpecd Solutions in 2021 so I could focus on helping to introduce innovative renewable energy technology to Atlantic Canada. Products such as Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV), non-lithium storage solutions and small wind energy technology are a few of the emerging renewable energy innovations I have been fortunate to work with. As being an entrepreneur often entails, I have pivoted somewhat since I started AzSpecd Solutions. I now find myself focused as much on project management and consulting as I do sales as that is where I believe I provide the most value. In late 2023 AzSpecd became the exclusive representative in Atlantic Canada for Elemex Architectural Facades which has allowed me to more easily integrate BIPV into building designs. Through the help of the many great renewable energy associations in Nova Scotia I have been afforded the opportunity to work on multiple grants exploring the feasibility of this new technology in our region and I get up every morning energized and enthusiastic with the changes I am seeing.
