About Barry Pierce

I am a hardworking, dedicated individual with over 10 years of experience within the financial industry. I started in this industry in 2007 and during my time there I held positions ranging from payments team administrator, to dealing team leader and finally senior consultant. During my career I gained valuable experience and developed my own skills such as time management, communication and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to work within a group or independently. During my time within Northern Trust, I worked on many high-level projects and worked with partners from several regions across the globe to ensure that our deliverables were meet within agreed timelines and to a high standard. I was the subject matter expert for our client deliverable process and as a result spent several weeks training partners in locations such as Luxembourg and Bangalore India. In 2020 I decided to leave the financial world and return to study. I feel that this was the correct decision for me, and I am grateful for my time within the financial industry as it helped me to develop many key skills which I can carry forward into my new career. While the decision to return to college was not an easy one to make, I feel that engineering is the right place for me and have thoroughly enjoyed my time in TU Dublin and the challenges that have come along with this. I look forward to building on the experience and knowledge I have received from the college with practical experience in the engineering industry.
