About Barry Wells

I completed my Graduate Diploma in Aviation Management in 2022 at the University of New South Wales and previously my Diploma in Training Design and Development in 2015 and Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment in 2012 at the Canberra Institute of Technology. I have also undertaken a variety of industry training courses for Defence and general aviation safe working. I have a strong focus on workplace safety and continuous systems improvement through promoting and encouraging best practice. My recent postgraduate studies have equipped me with a greater understanding of aviation management especially Human Factors and Safety Management Systems, combined with my many years of experience within hazardous aviation environments. I investigate complicated issues and gather information to promote better informed decision making. I establish service maintenance planning and set up and implement emergency procedures, risk and hazard evaluations and emergency training. I design, document and implement company safety including daily operational training and systems. I interpret local regulations and explain how they impact operations. I have comprehensive computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as SAP management software. I have prepared management reports on sales and submitted online staff timesheets on an internal IT system as well as incident reports through the Defence IT network. My key strengths are strong project coordination and management skills to solve aviation problems and make decisions, efficient planning of work schedules and workloads and demonstrated strong solutions-based thinking. I am reliable with strong learning ability, efficiency and thoroughness. I work effectively with a broad range of industry stakeholders and communicate well in team environments as well as being able to operate reliably on my own for extended periods. I successfully develop and maintain relationships with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and have effective, efficient and productive client service skills with a flexible and approachable manner.
