Widely experienced, having established / developed numerous labor relations / human resources teams, negotiated over 150 collective bargaining agreements (First Chair), represented companies in over 75 union organizing campaigns and defended management in multiple arbitrations, EEO and NLRB proceedings. A Juris Doctor Degree, a Master of Science Degree in Industrial Relations and prior Senior Professional of Human Resources certification (SHRM). Accomplishments include: » Collective Bargaining / Contract Administration: At Aramark, negotiated 50+ labor agreements (First Chair) with various unions throughout the country, always meeting the Company’s objectives and saving over $1M in annual wage, benefit and productivity costs. At Corporate Express, successfully defended 100% of the arbitrations, EEO / Unfair Labor Practice Charges filed against the Company, saving in excess of $250K in awards, fines and legal fees. » Union Organizing Campaigns: Proven record of success in defeating union organizing attempts. At Corporate Express, helped employees turn back unions in 14 organizational campaigns, decertify the Teamsters in one location and withdraw recognition in another. At Aramark, defeated union organizing attempts in several locations and decertified the Teamsters in another. » Preventative / Proactive Union Avoidance: Able to analyze and change the culture of large organizations. At Exel, developed programs and strategies that reduced the number of union campaigns from an average of two to three per year to zero (none for over four years). At Corporate Express, created a pro-employee environment that reduced union campaigns from an average of five per year to zero.
