About Barry Worthington

I serve as the executive director of the United States Energy Association (USEA), the U.S member of the World Energy Council, the United Nations’ accredited global energy advisor. I chair the Clean Electricity Production working group within the UNECE Commission on Sustainable Energy. USEA's team of international energy specialists works with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), energy companies and energy ministers to help expand infrastructure in developing countries. Our team has helped develop thousands of energy projects globally, from geothermal drilling operations in sub Saharan Africa to smart grid electricity projects in central Europe and pipeline expansion in the Balkans.USEA is a partner with the Department of Energy to lead its international effort to adopt and expand the use of clean coal and other fossil fuels. USEA is also a bipartisan advisory organization that represents 150 members across the U.S. energy sector from the largest Fortune 500 companies to small energy consulting firms. USEA represents the broad interests of the U.S. energy industry and meets with domestic and international energy leaders to advance information and unearth partnerships to develop projects across the world.In my role, I am a resource to industry stakeholders, lawmakers, the media and the administration on energy development and the role of all energy resources to meet a growing global demand. I speak to diverse audiences, from the policy to the financial sectors, in the U.S. and abroad, about energy policy developments, geopolitical considerations and global resource management.
