About Bart Daems

I started my professional carreer in the educational services of several Museums, such as Bozar, The Royal Museums of Fine Arts including several temporary expositions. I guided groups, from adolescents to persons with fysical handicaps. For the RMFA with the Magritte Museum I have created several educative projects for the blind. In my spare time I continue to give customized guided tours. Between 2010 and 2012 I was manager of the John Selbach Museum in Maaseik where I take on every aspect of the profession. From 2013 I returned to Bozar where I became Archives and Library Officer. I'm responsible for several departemental archives and the general administration of the former and active structures of the Centre of Fine Arts of Brussels. Among them are the Archives of the Philharmonic Association of Brussels and the Auxiliary Society for Exhibitions of the 'Palais des Beaux-Arts'​. My main concern is the accessibility. I'm in charge for the collection-informationsystem and publique events. Beside that I support the internal departements. In Bozar I am a member of several committees dealing with personnel matters, such as the Friends of the Centre of Fine Arts or 'BOZAR4U' where I am secretary and organize cultural excursions. The objective is to cross over the borders between the various departments through an informal knowledge with your colleagues. In this topic I am part of the editorial committee of the internal magazine 'Zorba'. From time to time I deliver lectures on educational services, museum-managment and art-historical topics (mainly early-modern arts from the Netherlands). From 2015 I began to work occasionally for Vanhaerents Art Collection as a freelance guide. The advanced programming in Bozar did not only strengthen my affinity with contemporary art, but also gave me the drive to deepen me again herein.
