Bart Knight South Division - Divisional Field Merchant Bart Knight is a high-caliber retail professional with 29 years in the industry, where he has progressively risen through the ranks to lead over employees with a multi-billion-plus revenue. He currently serves as the South Division Field Merchant after holding the West Division Sr. Director of Merchandising Services for Lowe's Companies, Inc. He leads a strong team of merchandising associates to perform the merchandising expectations in the stores to best support our customers, vendors, and stores. Previous to this time, Bart had transformed a struggling market with poor talent and under- performing revenue into financially prosperous stores in both sales and profit. As District Manager, he has earned year over year growth by effectively leading 11 stores in the market. Bart has also developed key relationships with customers and the community, including, volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity, the Boys and Girls Club, and Children’s Hospitals. Prior to his role as District Manager, Bart was a Store Manager at Lowe’s Home Improvement for nearly seven years. He also served as a member of the Store Manager Sounding Board and was an SMTP coach and mentor in the market. Bart began his retail career in 1994 as the Store Manager at the 84 Lumber in Manhattan, Kansas based out of Pennsylvania. In 1996, he joined The Home Depot as an Assistant Store Manager. Bart was promoted twice as Store Manager in then to District Manager in 2004. As District Manager, he supervised more than 1,500 associates and increased sales, drove high profits, and reduced turnover by developing future leaders. Bart is passionate about developing leaders in business and in the community. He participates in Talking Talent Succession planning meetings to identify talent and initiated a Women’s Leadership Program to inspire female professionals. His accomplishments in the community are equally impressive, as Bart captained the Lowe’s Heroes project and the rebuild grant in Denver and Carter’s Kids Project. Bart attended Highland County Community College, University of Kansas, and Western Governors University graduating with a BBA and an MBA.
