I have worked in Shipping since 1986, first at sea as Chief Officer on coastal short sea trade and later in several ranks worldwide trade in several shipping segments with various ship owners, ranging from bulk, container, reefer and general cargo trade. First employ after my career at sea, which lasted 13 years, was as sales employee at company dealing with engine parts, unused new from beached vessel, and reconditioned at own workshop. I started with Telco Marine as safety officer, and later as QHSE officer evolving in QHSE manager, and dealing with the ERRV fleet, guidelines and regulations, client inspections with their follow up. Conversion for the UK market, clients and regulatory bodies, inclusive of alignment of training institutes to UK. Participated in organizations with the aim of continues improvement. I dealt as well with Q&A systems upgrade and certification of shore organization and vessels under management. In 2004 the company merged and grown into Vroon Offshore Services, the business and my involvement moved towards PSV & subsea support, inclusive of Dynamic positioning. With my experience with clients, procedures and guidelines made a logical step towards operations. I am specialized in dealing with clients and contracts and have a good insight in voyage administration, legal knowledge and with my nautical background able to participate proactively in client projects, especially in the renewable sector. Specialties: Vessel operations, voyage administration, problem solving, Quality assurance and Safety Management systems, reporting, contractual knowledge, negotiating, accident investigation, and creative out of the box thinking.
