About Bart Shteinman

I am currently completing my role as a Graduate Policy Officer in the NSW Government Graduate Program. Prior to this I completed a Double Degree with Honours (First Class) in Arts and Economics at USYD, with a triple major in Government, Economics and Philosophy. In my time at university, I applied myself across a range of roles in education, hospitality, NGOs and small-business. For 2 years I was a director at Insight East, a small education business in Sydney, which was sold to a private equity group at the end of 2018. For a year, I was the Editor of an online environmental magazine I co-founded (TheClimatized.com). I worked casually in interfaith and cultural competency training with Together For Humanity, a publicly-funded charity. I was President of the Sydney University Labor Club (SULC), the oldest university political society in Australia, and an executive on the NSW Labor Environment Action Network (LEAN), one of the most influential environmental advocacy groups in Australia. I was also a USYD President of the Australian Indigenous Mentorship Experience (AIME), and assisted in re-founding its university society. In 2021, I completed my field research for my thesis on the social license of renewable energy as an Honours Research Fellow with the Sydney Environment Institute (SEI), receiving First Class.
