About Bart Voswinkel

As a Research Fellow at the BIED Society, I'm exploring global development and development/climate financing. My recent work includes authoring a research paper examining the evolution of development theory, analyzing the shift from the Millennium Development Goals to the Sustainable Development Goals, and the implications for future international cooperation and sustainable development practices. This research involves conducting a literature review of reports, academic studies, and working papers. My experience at the United Nations Financing for Sustainable Development Office provided me with invaluable hands-on experience in international development. There, I developed comprehensive outcome indicators for an multi-year project, enhancing our ability to track progress and make evidence-based decisions. I also conducted research on international tax cooperation, sovereign debt, and sustainable development financing, supporting policy recommendations for UN member states. A key aspect of my UN work involved designing and facilitating 10+ capacity development workshops on sustainable development financing strategies across three continents, engaging over 200 participants from diverse backgrounds. I also coordinated four high-level UN events, including Expert Committee sessions and ECOSOC meetings, where I facilitated dialogue among global leaders on international economic cooperation.
