About Bascha Stabik
PROFILE After graduating as an art historian in Germany, Bascha Stabik received a Master of Arts in the Conservation of Easel Paintings from the University of Northumbria at Newcastle in 2007. She moved to the Netherlands in 2007 to work at the Stichting Restauratie Atelier Limburg (SRAL), Maastricht (The Netherlands) as a paintings conservator. Next to her current position as senior conservator she is the studio coordinator and member of the Management Team. She specialises in the treatment of both traditional easel paintings as well as large scale wall paintings on canvas. Next to regular conservation work her position entails the development of treatment approaches and proposals for complex problems in the conservation of paintings, often in the cross-over with the discipline of historic interiors. As studio coordinator she oversees the daily routines of the paintings, polychrome sculpture and contemporary art department from outgoing treatment proposals, logistics and planning in close collaboration with the team.
