About Bassem Riachi

My fascination with project management, operations, machinery, technology, and the environment have driven me to pursue a career in Civil Engineering. Over the past 7+ years, I have been utterly joyous building my experience in Engineering and Construction Management from the planning phase and deep into the execution phase. I started out as a structural engineer modeling buildings and drafting plans for tenders and execution which was a great technical learning experience and workplace introduction. After a couple of years, I moved on to construction management where I was more involved with planning and scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and on-site operations management. Introducing scheduling and budgeting software to both companies I worked for and proving their efficacy and reliability is my proudest achievement during that phase of my career.Due to my interest in more mature markets, international exposure, and cultural exchange, I moved to Amsterdam last year. Since then, I have been working in logistics operations management, shipping and customs compliance, and customer service. I was highly commended for successfully managing the biggest influx of goods over 2 months for one of our biggest pharmaceutical clients. Moreover, I played a critical role in organizing the communication process and designed a checklist for compliance on all our shipping operations. I was recently picked to work with the top leadership on a project to enhance process management in the company.Everywhere I have been, I was able to excel in streamlining communications between my team and the different stakeholders to avoid conflicts and to always have clarity on the next step. I am excellent at time management and giving every task the duration it deserves based on its impact on the process. Moreover, I have the ability to use my analytical thinking and problem solving skills where needed to run operations more smoothly, efficiently, and with minimal errors.For the near future, I am very interested in a project management role. My flexibility and ease of adaptation has already helped me excel in several industries especially those where I can apply my analytical, project management and data analysis skills.
