Background

About Batul Nawab

I'm an interior designer and researcher exploring how sustainable, low-tech methods can foster deeper place attachment and a sense of belonging. With experience across residential, retail, and commercial sectors, I’m skilled at balancing strong conceptual design thinking with the practical realities of budget, materiality, and context. I see each project’s unique constraints as opportunities for strategic and creative design solutions. My work investigates how design can nurture belonging, memory, and identity—especially in a time of climate adaptation and transformation in how we live and build. I’m passionate about material honesty, circular thinking, and crafting spaces that are both thoughtful and future-facing. My projects bridge interior design, systems thinking, and speculative exploration—I'm drawn to roles at the intersection of creativity, sustainability, and storytelling, designing not just for resilience, but for futures people want to live in.
