Background
About Baylee Edwards
I am a first-year Ph.D. student in the Biology and Society program at Arizona State University, and I work in the Brownell Biology Education Research lab. My research explores the ways in which students and instructors perceive the relationship between religion and science and the impact that those perceptions have on students’ experiences in biology courses. I have been a teaching assistant for a bioethics course and am currently an instructor for the Embryo Project writing seminar. Additionally, I have worked as an introductory biology curriculum developer since March 2020, where I have helped develop innovative online biology curriculum, train BIO 181 TAs, and progress the initiatives of ASU's Dreamscape Learn. In my future endeavors, I hope to continue working alongside instructors, education researchers, and curriculum developers to create more inclusive college biology courses that prioritize and support students’ learning.
