I am currently in the position of Executive Director of Special Programs, Trained TX Mediator, and Trauma Informed Care Developmental Process Consultant DPC. I have worked in public schools (traditional and open-enrollment charter) as a special education teacher and special education administrator. In my role, I have had the opportunity to be one of the founding members of charter schools in TX and Nevada with the primary role of developing, implementing, and maintaining special education and Section 504 programs for over 7 new charter schools. Also, I have reviewed the effectiveness of programming for students in a variety of school settings and worked with multiple school districts and charters to improve outcomes for special populations as well as meet compliance with state and federal guidelines. Monitoring compliance, reporting performance standards, overseeing all related services, and improving students’ emotional/behavioral and academic outcomes for the state of Texas for multiple schools are currently my responsibilities.
