About Beat Simon

Over the course of my professional career, I have been able to acquire a vast range of experience and skills in international management. The challenging positions I have held at DANZAS/DHL, PANALPINA, AGILITY, APL Logistics, CMA CGM, ONTEGOS AG and now DP World have enabled me to develop into a mature manager and member of Group management and have also given me the opportunity to act as a member of the Board of Directors. I have been able to prove my ability to assume overall responsibility for major profit organisations, and to take the full ownership for developing and implementing appropriate and successful strategies. For many years I was living in different cultures (Europe, North- South America, Asia and now Middle East), so I have learned and come to appreciate the importance of tolerance, adaptation and diversity. The command of the Spanish, the English, the Portuguese and the French language next to my mother tongue German is a further benefit of my international experience. The main emphasis of my activities has been placed – and continues to be placed – on sustainability, and on meeting the expectations of all the involved groups (shareholders, customers, suppliers, employees and society). My efforts are focused on creating real, sustainable value so that I can offer the enterprise opportunities to continue growing and to become stronger. Such objectives were attained because I succeeded in building up stable management structures and well-coordinated teams, thereby contributing to their ongoing improvement. The experience of financial management was a highly important factor in the various management roles I have taken on. I view myself as a proactive, open personality and an innovative management figure who works efficiently and focuses on solutions; a figure who defines clear goals with management partners and vigorously drives the implementation of those goals ahead. In this context, the success of all involved parties is the top priority.
