I joined NBG in April 2019 and was appointed Group Chief Control Officer of the Bank in May 2019. I am responsible for enhancing the effective and efficient operation of the Bank's internal controls within the 1st line of defense. Before joining the NBG Group I was the Senior Director of the CFO Office of Piraeus Bank from November 2019 to March 2019 responsible for Quality Assurance and Control within the Finance Division. Prior to joining Piraeus Bank, I was an equity partner in the Financial Services Industry in Deloitte Greece since 2006 and with 26 years of public accounting experience in Deloitte Greece. I have vast audit experience in entities listed on the European and US market, being audited under ISA auditing standards or PCAOB standards and with SOX based on COSO 2013. Subject matter expert on comfort letters for Initial Public Offerings, Eurobond, Covered Bond programs. Vast experience in auditing subsidiaries of MNC's in accordance with US GAAP/IFRS, financial due diligence procedures, restatement of FS from local GAAP to IFRS/US GAAP. I have been the group lead engagement partner on National Bank of Greece for the period 2007 - 2014 as well as the engagement partner on several of the subsidiaries of the NBG Group. I have long international exposure having dealt directly with the foreign subsidiaries. Having led large audit team I possess excellent project management skills. I was also the cross functional learning leader within Deloitte Greece responsible for ensuring that our learning strategy is implemented for all the businesses within the Firm. I am a Fellow Certified Charted Accountant (FCCA)(1994) and a Greek CPA (2010) and a Certified Internal Control Auditor (CICA)(2020). I holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting and Finance from the American College of Greece (Deree College)(1991).
