Access to essential health products for vulnerable populations is critical to allow equity in facing health challenges. Patients suffering from rare diseases or patients suffering from tropical infectious diseases are sharing the same challenges regardless of country incomes, health system level, educational status or gender: lacking access to affordable diagnostics and treatments due to the fact that rare or neglected tropical diseases are challenging markets requiring innovative social business models.
