About Beau Armstrong

Recognized as a national leader in the real estate industry, Beau Armstrong has served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Stratus Properties Inc. since 1998. Based in Austin, Texas, Stratus Properties is known for strong stewardship of the land they own as well as the environmentally sustainable way in which they develop projects.Armstrong joined the company in 1992, the year of its inception, and served as the Chief Financial Officer before assuming his current roles. Under his leadership, the company has realized steady growth and garnered nationwide acclaim for its innovative projects.Some of the projects developed by Beau Armstrong have included the award-winning, master-planned communities of Barton Creek, Circle C Ranch, and Lantana.In 2011, Beau Armstrong and his team completed work on Block 21, which encompasses an entire city block in downtown Austin. The Block 21 project includes the W Austin Hotel and Residences, the Austin City Limits Live concert venue, and retail and office space. The 1.1 million-square-foot, 37-story skyscraper is the first mixed-use building of its kind to earn Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, achieving LEED level Silver and a four-star rating from Austin Energy.The company is currently finishing up construction on Parkside Village, a retail center in the Circle C community in southwest Austin, anchored by a state-of-the-art Alamo Drafthouse Theater and the Austin Diagnostic Clinic.Beau Armstrong utilizes his extensive knowledge of sustainable development construction in service to the U.S. Green Building Council where he currently serves on the Finance Committee. Dedicated to promoting best practices in the industry, Armstrong is also active with the Real Estate Council of Austin, the Urban Land Institute, and the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts.
