I am an experienced professional software engineering leader with a passion for cross-cultural, cross-team collaboration. I find and implement elegant, agile solutions to hard problems. As a team player, I break down projects and divide tasks to keep engineers engaged and excited. In my teams, we cultivate mentorship and professional development. In addition to contributing code, I prioritize high-quality, empathetic code review. In my experience, a collaborative approach with intensive communication and teamwork leads to great products. If we align frequently, we stay on course and learn from each other. When it comes to code, I'm all about test coverage, maintainability, and keeping it lean and clean. I prefer clear implementation over comments. Convention over configuration. Minimize mutation. Make it easy to change. Before moving to Asia, I studied computer science at the University of Georgia and did production and audio engineering in Atlanta, GA, where I was a partner at a recording production company. While rocking out in a regionally-acclaimed rock band, I played at the legendary CBGB club in NYC and opened for Weezer. I taught English in both South Korea and Japan, where I was the Head of Technology at an English school. I migrated our scheduling and labor management systems from papers on a clipboard to Google Docs, which allowed for easy scalability and collaboration.
