About Bec Johnson

I’m an executive and board director with a background in health, international development and the non-profit sector, now leading consumer engagement for WA Health’s Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Program. In this role, I’m focused on making sure the EMR is designed and implemented in partnership with consumers - so it’s usable, meaningful and trusted by patients, families and clinicians alike. Previously, I was a Director with Nous Group, helping organisations solve complex problems across health and social impact. As co-founder and CEO of the Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre, I built an Australia-first organisation that now supports thousands of families and has won multiple awards for innovation. Living with type 1 diabetes myself, I bring both lived experience and professional expertise in consumer engagement, strategy, and system reform - and I’m passionate about creating health systems that truly work for the people they serve.
