About Bec Koop

I am blessed to be one of the Co-Owners of Irie Weddings & Events along with Three Fins Financial LLC. As one of the original founders of the Cannabis Wedding Expo, I have been fortunate to help change history within the wedding and event scene. Looking to break the norms, educate those around and change trends into traditions. She first started in the event space at age 15 taking shifts for her neighbor's catering business. She continued to work in the event space thru high school and all thru college. With her love of the finer foods, the event atmosphere and hospitality, she decided to work at a leading high end resort and conference center outside of Washington DC, Landsdowne Resort. This career path caused her to change her major specifically to Recreational Management with a concentration in Tourism and Hospitality. After graduating college, she began to live the ski resort dream continuing to work in the hospitality and service industries. Her multiple jobs and vast trainings cover a wide span of skill sets ranging from Cave Rescue Certifications and Ski Patrol to Adventure Concierge and Guide services and then back to luxe weddings in Summit County Colorado servicing some of Colorado's largest ski resort areas. Bec's career in cannabis began with her job at a medical dispensary while also running a delivery-based floral business in high country Colorado. This sparked a big idea: Cannabis Weddings. First, she enhanced floral arrangements with cannabis buds with the first business Buds & Blossoms. Quickly she decided to move forwards with offering cannabis wedding and event planning, cannabis florals and cannabis bars to any cannabis enthusiast client. Her business was denied the opportunity to participate in several local wedding shows so she and Philip Wolf started the world's 1st ever Cannabis Wedding Expo. Her business Irie Weddings & Events continues to support the Cannabis Wedding Expo across the country. As time went on, the business gained momentum and needed streamlining and a team. This is when Madlyne Kelly joined forces and eventually Chelsi Katz. She couldn't be more grateful for her team of incredible like minded compassionate educated bad*ss women. With a tenacious attitude and saint-like amount of grace, Bec established Colorado's first cannabis wedding specialy company in 2014. Little did she know where it would be in just 7 short years - a national cannabis bartending business serving clients in multiple states.
