My contribution to our dental office has spanned through the years from assisting the dentist in-operatory, to receptionist, to front office management, and finally to practice management. Besides overseeing office efficiency and helping the staff, I do the bookkeeping, payroll, patient services, insurance management, online profile, advertising, and financial management. To compensate for my lack of a business degree, I have had to do some serious studying, master Quickbooks, and comb through enough tax manuals and updates to fill a large bookshelf. But this has become my dream job. I actually look forward to Mondays almost as much as I do the weekends. Many of our patients are now "old friends" that I look forward to seeing. My husband, the dentist, is great fun to work with, and the staff could not be more genuinely caring, gracious, and professional. They raise the bar when it comes to integrity and have that special talent of bringing laughter (the best medicine) to the dental office experience.
