My background as a board certified infectious disease specialist and academia, has allowed me to develop a unique skill set that can be applied in a wide array of settings. Outside of my infectious disease specialty, my passion lies in promoting equitable healthcare for marginalized patients with a focus on persons with disabilities. Often persons with disabilities are left out of healthcare education, research on social determinants of health, and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. Furthermore, a lack of understanding and accessibility within the healthcare system leads to poor outcomes and experiences for these patients thus my initiatives are to bridge those gaps between patient and healthcare provider. My goal is to provide comprehensive and compassionate health care and support for patients throughout their entire lifespan.
