About Becky Knott

Born in Montana, raised in South Dakota, Becky taught her first fitness class at the Waist Basket (ha!) in Sioux Falls, South Dakota when she was 16 years old.leg warmers, skinny Reeboks - all the glamor of the 80s aerobics scene). As a college student at Montana State University in the late 80s and 90s, she was the lead fitness instructor/trainer for the student and staff wellness programs and designed the university’s first instructor training program. After college, Becky took her French and Recreation Management degrees to Bordeaux, France where she worked at La Salle des Champs-Elysées and taught a "yoga-ish class," called le Stretching, in addition to le Step, l'Aérobique, and le Gym Globale. During the late 90s - Becky was blessed with two beautiful baby boys, and started practicing yoga regularly to cultivate balance and clarity in her life. When her boys got older they became involved with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and so did Mom. After earning her purple belt in BJJ, Becky started a women's BJJ program and deeply loved coaching this dynamic sport. Training sessions included yoga for strength and flexibility which ultimately inspired her to complete the CorePower Yoga Power Yoga 200-hour Instructor Training Program in the summer of 2014. In January of 2022, Becky finished her advanced 300-hour training with Amy Ippoliti and the Vesselify School of Yoga. Training with Amy brought a new spiritual depth to her teaching, and an understanding of alignment that transformed her understanding of yoga poses and guiding her students. Becky currently holds E-RYT® 200, RYT® 500, YACEP® designations with Yoga Alliance. She has also done additional training in Mindful Yoga Therapy for people with PTSD and is very interested in helping people suffering from anxiety, panic, and trauma. Becky feels fortunate to have had the opportunity to teach in a variety of settings such as CorePower Yoga, several independent yoga studies, and corporate venues. However, she is at home with her community at the Louisville Recreation Center in Louisville, Colorado. Yoga Sculpt, Power, Vinyasa, Gentle, and Restorative Yoga classes are always on her schedule. Becky is also an avid cyclist and teaches Express Cycling and Cycle-Yoga classes - and even a Throwback Aerobics class once in a while. Leading retreats is Becky’s passion! She has held retreats in Nicaragua, Portugal, Costa Rica, and is looking ahead with excitement to retreats in Panama and Italy in 2024!
