About Becky Merkey

I was a high school chemistry teacher for 6 years and a high school soccer coach for 11 years. I am now a licensed pharmacist in Minnesota and Texas. I recently published a project tied to gopher athletes and the role pharmacists have to play with division-1 athletes and medication/supplement optimization. This paper led to the creation of my new company, Meraki Medication Coaching, where I help athletes understand and effectively manage their medications/supplements. My husband and I enjoy going to serve the same community in Nicaragua every year unless there is civil unrest (2018) or a pandemic (2020) and we are not allowed to go. I recently completed a manuscript demonstrating the benefit serving abroad has on future pharmacists (published Jan 2020). I also enjoy being creative and developing curriculum. I co-authored and illustrated a pharmacology textbook for PD1s in the college of pharmacy.
