I'm a freelance writer and editor who works with companies in the pet and family industries. Writing: I’ve been writing fiction since high school, and I have both a BA and an MFA in creative writing. I’m more than competent with academic writing, but my focus in fiction means I already write in the conversational style that’s so important in marketing emails and newsletters (my specialty). Editing: My love of words meant I always had friends asking for help with their papers. I’ve helped tease out just the right phrase or trim down the excess on everything from college admissions essays to two different doctoral dissertations. I can do anything from basic proofreading for typos and grammatical errors to a full copy edit, all while staying consistent with your writer’s voice. Email marketing: In addition to my degrees, I’ve done extensive studying through AWAI, an industry-recognized leader in copywriting training, and I’m certified as an Email Copywriting Specialist through their program. I can write any emails you need for your business, such as welcome sequences, cart abandonment emails, promotions, sales enablement, or simple content emails. I can also write your email newsletter and make sure every issue is on time and full of content your readers will be happy to receive. WHY CATS AND KIDS? I’m passionate about cats, and a lot of my writing is done with mine either making a nuisance of himself on my lap or curled up right next to my desk. I understand all the concerns people have about their pets, because I have those same concerns, so I’m a great person to connect with your customers in the pet space. As for kids, I have an extensive background in professional childcare. I know exactly what new parents are worried about, and I spent plenty of my time as a nanny holding their hands through all their new-parent concerns. I can do the exact same thing as a copywriter in the parenting and family industry. And I don’t just know the industry. Because of my background in childcare, I’m a great choice to write for you. In addition to looking after the babies, a lot of my job involved communicating with both parents and their considerably-less verbal children.
