I’m Becky Wright - a master gin distiller with a passion for sowing soulful connections between people, purpose and place. Dryad is an award-winning, small-batch Somerset gin made with majestic oak trees and distilled in traditional copper stills from the foothills of the Quantocks. From South West bar hire to guided woodland walks, artisan markets to tailored talks, private dining experiences to our fabled Pop-Up Pubs, there are plenty of ways to embrace Dryad community spirit. THE HISTORY OF DRYAD GIN I’ve always been passionate about finding everyday joy, having spent many years as a psychotherapist helping people find home and happiness within themselves. At New Leaf, we continue to offer bespoke mental health training to conscious businesses keen to support their employees beyond one-size-fits-all advice. Pairing my pursuit for belonging with my passion for bloomin’ good gin, I realised I could manifest moments of meaningful connection where people arrived as strangers and left as firm friends. And so, from the trusty oak of New Leaf came Dryad Gin - a botanical brew named after the steadfast spirits who have guarded the trees for centuries. In 2022, after training to become a distiller, I poured the first bottle of our evocative elixir and I’ve been bottling the wonders of the woodland ever since. COMMUNITY SPIRIT IN A GLASS With first-hand experience running a B-Corp-accredited business and decades spent helping companies act on their corporate social responsibility, I wanted my sustainable values and lifelong love of nature to run through Dryad Gin. That’s why our gin is distilled locally and can be quaffed at The Dryad Inn, our travelling public house of no fixed abode that seeks to prevent isolation and create connection in rural communities without a social hub. When I’m not rocking a fungi-themed headdress behind tables brimming with Dryad delights, you’ll find me connecting with nature, supporting my local community, and embracing creative pursuits.
