Background
About Becky Wright
I've spent over 25 years working with unions to be ready for the challenges they face. As Executive Director of Unions 21, I lead an organisation that works directly with unions on the insight and support they need to build for tomorrow. We work across the UK, Ireland and internationally, with unions of all sizes and sectors. Before Unions 21, I was Director of the TUC's Organising Academy. I've worked with unions and confederations across Europe. I hold a BA in Politics, an MRes, and studied Contemporary European Labour Studies at the Universiteit van Amsterdam. What I care most about is practical: what does a union actually need to do differently, and how do you help it get there without losing what makes it a union in the first place? For me, it's crucial to share best practice which is what I do here. Open to conversations with anyone working on the future of unions.
