About Becky Young

I am frequently asked why I became a financial advisor. I, of course, want to help other reach their financial goals, but my passion goes deeper. When I was a child, my parents, typical working-class wage earners, would save year-round to vacation in Florida, once a year. When they saved enough, we would pack the car, and drive seemingly FOREVER to the sunny state where we would spend a few days before returning to Michigan. I loved those times, and I wanted to have similar memories with my family. But vacations are expensive! How could I save for retirement, have a family, afford a mortgage, yet still have enough to travel? How does one balance all the financial responsibilities of adulthood? At times it seemed overwhelming! And if I felt this way, I assumed others did too. Fast forward to the present.I have now been married 26 years, and have 2 children (Nicholas - 18, and Joshua - 15). I've worked in the financial services field since 2006, and I've seen the good, the bad, and the extremely ugly times in the stock market. But I learned early on that if I have a roadmap, a set of goals that I want to reach financially, I will arrive at my destination. Sure there are some bumpy spots and detours (because life happens). But that is part of investing. And everyone needs to have this financial roadmap! If you don't know where you are today, and where you want to be in the future, how do you plot your course?
