Background
About Behrouz Aghajanloo
I have obtained a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering – Manufacturing & Production, from the University of Tabriz (https://tabrizu.ac.ir/en) and Babol Noshirvani University of Technology (https://nit.ac.ir/en). As a research assistant at the Isfahan University of Technology (http://english.iut.ac.ir/) and Royan Institute I worked on pumpless microfluidic platforms for the POC diagnostics. I have proposed a brand-new hybrid model for passive cell separation using DLD method with a paper capillary wick. I have also worked as a research fellow on rapid detection kits based on capillary microfluidics at Chilab – Materials and Microsystems Laboratory (https://areeweb.polito.it/ricerca/micronanotech/main-page/news/ALBEROFLUIDICS), BioMedLab and PiquetLab (https://piquetlab.it) at Politecnico di Torino, under the Erasmus+ funding programme granted by the European Commission and a fellowship funded by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR). As a visiting researcher at Macquarie University, I worked on a microfluidic platform for plasmonic nanoparticle synthesis supported by the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. I am currently pursuing my academic journey as an International Macquarie and Industry Research Excellence Scholarship (iMQRES) recipient, working on Hearing research in collaboration with ASOHNS – Ear Nose and Throat Head and Neck Surgeons in Australia (https://asohns.org.au/) to address global health challenges related to hearing diseases. As an early career researcher, I aim to grow the translational impact of my research and accelerate the advancement of healthcare technologies.
