About Belia Alvarez

Belia Alvarez is a native New Mexican born and raised in Las Cruces. She currently serves as the Regional General Manager overseeing both the Hotel Encanto and the Hilton Garden Inn in Las Cruces. Belia served in this role from 2012-2018 and recently returned to lead these two beautiful hotels that are part of Heritage Hotels & Resorts. Before returning to lead these hotels,Belia served as the Corporate Director of Community Relations for Heritage Hotels & Resorts. In this position, she was responsible for preserving and cultivating cultural partnerships and recognition, managing community relationships that are based on the promotion and advancement of cultural preservation within the state. She also advocates for collaborative opportunities to bring cultural and tourism awareness to New Mexico. In this role she was also the Executive Director for the New Mexico Multi-Cultural Foundation for Heritage Hotels & Resorts. Belia will continue to be a part of this amazing Foundation that celebrates the preservation of history and culture for the great state of New Mexico. Ms. Alvarez also previously served as the Corporate Director of Hospitality setting the standard for hospitality and service for Heritage Hotels & Resorts’ team members, and especially those who work with their VIP guests. Ms. Alvarez has more than 25 years of hospitality experience, serving primarily as General Manager and Community Relations Director. Ms. Alvarez also led the team that successfully opened the Hilton branded Hampton Inn- Las Cruces in 2007. Ms. Alvarez remains passionate and committed to the long term success of her community and state. She continues to serve and lead as an active member of numerous leadership organizations including Chairwomen for the Las Cruces Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Chairwomen of the Las Cruces Convention & Visitors Bureau Advisory Board, past board member for the New Mexico Hospitality Association, NMSU School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management Advisory Board and Ambassadors for Spaceport America. She has also been privileged to serve as a New Mexico State Tourism Commissioner since 2017. She is honored to have been reappointed by Governor Lujan Grisham Belia has also received the following awards: 2020 Las Cruces International Film- Hometown Hero Award, NM State LULAC 2014 Excellence in Public Service Recipient, 2012 New Mexico Lodger's Association Administrator of the Year Recipient, 2012 Heritage Hotels & Resorts Leadership Award and the 2011 Hampton Inn & Suites Stand Out Ambassador-Selected by the Hilton-Hampton Brand.
