About Ben Armstrong

With over 25 years of global experience in the resources and energy sectors, I am co-owner and director at PQ Partners, a consulting business that helps companies and their people to think, plan, structure and deliver more predictably, consistently and sustainably. My competencies include project and PMO management, strategy development, process and systems development and the integration and reporting of sustainability outcomes. I have delivered significant outcomes across complex, multi-billion dollar projects through to small team initiatives. My recent work has included: • Facilitation of development and delivery of strategies – such as incorporating social, water and biodiversity impacts into strategy, planning and investment decision making process for a number of mining companies • Delivery of valuable corporate initiatives – such as devising decarbonisation plans for global listed clients, or completing climate change risk assessments and associated adaptation plans across the global asset portfolio of a gold mining company • Designing corporate planning, project assurance & governance processes – such as improving investment selection and delivery governance for multiple listed mining companies or designing a new portfolio management process for an Australian Energy Utility • Developing business case studies to support investment – such as a case study on the value of use of a new technology in operation to support a capital raise, or internal business cases to support investments
