For some companies green hydrogen is the future - for us at Lhyfe it is now. I develope projects for production and supply of green hydrogen for mobility and industry purposes. Our business model is to finance, build, own and operate our production plants. Together with our partners I develop complete supply chains based on renewable electricity to produce green hydrogen to decarbonize heavy duty vehicle fleets and for the transition of industry. Developement of mobility projects includes development and supply agreements and finally off-take contracts with refuelling station operators. It includes identifying and securing electrical grid connection and land agreements in strategic areas with efficient distribution networks. Green hydrogen can be used as feedstock for industry purposes, e g in combination with biogenic CCU to produce RFNBO's (e-fuels) or to use in thermochemical processes to produce fossil free steel. Such on site project development activities for industry include finding the right partners to develop sites with the best conditions in each and every case. Depending on the purpose this will most often include identifying and securing electrical power grid connections and land agreements, sourcing biogenic CCU and electricity (together with our energy experts). Most projects beeing developed includes early, advanced, tender ready and rewarded stages before the agreed project is finally handed over to project managers for FEED and EPC activities, commissioning and eventually handed over to operations. Financial modelling is one of the key ingredients in project development and includes both Capex and Opex conditions to obtain sufficient IRR and levelized cost of hydrogen but also to consider and mitigate financial and project risks. Financial modelling lays the basis for both electricity sourcing and off-take contracts. Where necessary also subsidies is included and applied for at national or EU-level. Project development also includes cooperation with our engineering team to establish the best technical sollution for each project, Initial basic/conceptual design stages includes defining performance of, e g electrolyzers, transformers, rectifiers and gas cleaning equipment to meet customer requirements. Where there is feasable off-take of by-products from electrolysis also performance of systems for supply of oxygen and residual heat needs to be defined. Application for necessary permits for each project is also included in my tasks.
