I have a strong interest in all aspects of IT systems engineering, server infrastructure and passionate about open source technology. Formerly dev. Now ops/infrastructure. Linux systems administration with CentOS, RHEL and Debian. Patch management with RedHat Satellite. Administration of core systems: DNS with bind/named, ISC dhcpd, postfix, kerberos, OpenLDAP and RedHat IPA. Linux storage configuration/management: mdraid, LVM, multipathd, iSCSI, NFS, Samba. Virtualisation using AWS, VMware ESX, Xen, KVM. Configuration of SRM, vSphere Replication. MySQL database administration, replication setup, query optimisation, schema design and performance tuning. DevOps stuff. Configuration management using Puppet. Monitoring with Nagios, Zabbix and integration with external systems/gateways. Automation of anything that moves with bash and basic perl. Build/release workflows using Hudson/Jenkins and git/svn. Developing and architecting web applications for 15 years. Resilient and scalable web applications deployed in AWS. Extensive use of haproxy, Varnish, nginx, Apache, tomcat. PHP development and application design using many frameworks. 20+ years of HTML/CSS/JS front-end development. Mail server administration with Zimbra, Postfix, DNS configuration and DKIM/DomainKeys and SPF DNS management. Experience in VoIP using Asterisk and various GUIs. SIP/XMPP presence aggregation with internal applications. Reasonable level of knowledge of MS ActiveDirectory and Exchange, though best to leave that to the experts.
