As head of standards and education at GS1 UK I am responsible for strategic programmes relating to the visibility, understanding, application and governance of GS1 standards. With 20 years’ experience in standards and training, I play an active role in, supporting the organisation's purpose and values to drive greater value for all our members. My focus is collaborating with GS1 UK members and partners, other GS1 organisations, regulators and other stakeholders to promote and harmonise data and standards across different organisations, markets and regions. The education function upkills our members in the use of GS1 standards, maximises the opportunities provided by the GS1 UK Knowledge Hub and explores new avenues for expanding training and education offerings. Whilst the standards team at GS1 UK takes a technical lead role in GS1 UK projects and ongoing activities based on the strategic and operational plans. Whether that is participating in standards development, providing consulting services or staying up to date with regulatory requirements, new technologies and solutions.
